Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
* Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate in subject area assigned
* Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment
* According to the LPISD Board adopted District of Innovation (DOI) plan, candidates who are native French speakers with qualified experience could be eligible to teach a course through a local teaching certification. Applicants must meet all District hiring criteria and demonstrate fluent and proficient bi-literacy skills, to include listening, speaking, reading and writing of the French language.
Other Information:

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
Salary:
* $63,000 for Beginning teacher with "0" years experience (based on Compensation Plan)
* $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
* Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
Pay Grade:
Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months

Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Frequent walking
* Lifting:
Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)
* Environment:
Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements
* Mental Demands:
Maintain control under stress
