Position: Turnaround Coordinator - Travel Required

The Turnaround (TAR) Coordinator supports refinery turnaround operations by assisting TAR Managers and Project Supervisors with planning, coordination, compliance, and execution activities. This role is operated as a Working TAR coordinator within a safety‑critical environment and is responsible for helping ensure turnaround activities are performed in accordance with Total Safety policies, client requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. He/She will have dual responsibilities when working as Project Supervisors on site.

The TAR Coordinator serves as a key liaison between field operations and management while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple sites.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist TAR Managers during the coordination and planning phases of refinery turnaround projects, including schedule development, planning documentation, and tracking deliverables.
  • Travel to client refinery and industrial sites to audit compliance with TAR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support implementation and standardization efforts.
  • Support Project Supervisors with billing, timekeeping, and employee counseling activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and policy compliance.
  • Coordinate the delivery, transfer, tracking, and return of tools, equipment, and other assets to and from assigned sites.
  • Facilitate communication between TAR Managers, Project Supervisors, field personnel, and support teams to maintain alignment and timely execution.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support audits, compliance reviews, and management reporting.
  • Participate in pre-job planning meetings, safety meetings, and turnaround coordination sessions as required.
Safety & Compliance Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and promote Total Safety’s Core Values, with a primary focus on Zero Incident performance.
  • Comply with all clients, refinery, and Total Safety safety policies, procedures, and permit requirements.
  • Ensure work activities observed in the field align with established SOPs and safe work practices.
  • Immediately report and escalated safety concerns, incidents, or non‑compliance issues through appropriate channels.
  • Properly always wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on site.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in refinery, petrochemical, or industrial turnaround environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices and SOP compliance.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with field personnel, supervision, and management.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to multiple client sites.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems (timekeeping, reporting, documentation).
Preferred Certifications (as Applicable)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • TWIC Card
  • H2S Awareness
  • Site‑specific refinery safety training.
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to work in active refinery and industrial environments.
  • Ability to meet refinery access requirements and pass site‑specific training.
  • Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
  • Work schedule may include nights, weekends, and extended hours during turnarounds.
  • Ability to push/pull in excess of 50lbs.
