Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer - Americas Operations Machinery
OverviewResponsible for troubleshooting, maintenance support, and optimization of rotating machinery across US facilities, including compressors, turbines, expanders, pumps, and more.
Key Job Responsibilities- Troubleshoot machinery issues and failures, analyzing operating trends, defining inspection scopes, developing repair plans, and conducting root cause analysis.
- Provide technical support and supervision during overhauls, turnarounds, and outages of large rotating machinery.
- Lead and implement reliability and efficiency improvement initiatives and best practices.
- Support re-rating and optimization of existing machinery to meet evolving plant needs.
- Deliver training to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Strong technical expertise in rotating equipment including compressors, expanders, turbines, pumps, and associated systems.
- Proficient in machinery vibration diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experienced in conducting and leading root cause analysis (RCA).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions.
- Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (10 years preferred) supporting rotating equipment within an operations organization.
Based in Texas:
La Porte, Houston, Port Arthur, or Beaumont.
Travel up to 30% to support operations; most travel will be daily to plants or shops, occasional overnight or week‑long travel for turnarounds.
Work in industrial plant environments, shops, and office. Typical business hours, but may include 24/7 on‑call backup for nights, weekends, and holidays.
