Maintenance & Reliability Engineer
We are seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to work on the Battleground site, which produces metal alkyls and high purity metal organics.
About the jobBattleground primarily produces metal alkyls, sold as co‑catalysts to major thermoplastic and rubber manufacturers, and also manufactures High Purity Metal Organics for the semiconductor and LED industries. The product line includes over 30 metal alkyl products and is highly hazardous (pyrophoric and reactive with water).
Responsibilities- Perform monthly bad actor analysis and develop proposals for elimination.
- Drive bad actor elimination by organizing and facilitating weekly RCPS workshops, updating asset strategies, and implementing technical improvements to equipment design and repair methods.
- Provide troubleshooting support to operating units on equipment reliability and emergency work reviews.
- Facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis for events/incidents.
- Develop discipline and systematic equipment maintenance strategies using criticality assessment and FMEA.
- Actively participate in capital projects, providing reliability input to engineering for equipment design, specification, and purchase.
- Support Hazard Studies with reliability data of equipment and components.
- Provide technical support and expert knowledge as required.
- Support equipment improvement initiatives with technical knowledge.
- Execute root cause problem solving, develop and implement technical solutions.
- Design and execute technical modifications.
- Manage preventive maintenance/repair of specified equipment such as HVAC/chillers.
- Set foundation for the maintenance team to perform precision maintenance and set expectations.
- Participate in MOC, site incident investigation, and environmental compliance processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Maintenance/Reliability Engineering in the chemical or refinery industry.
- Working knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance Module.
- Project management experience with small replacement projects for reliability improvements.
- Strong communication skills and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of pumps, seals, gearboxes, agitators, and lubrication.
- Knowledge of API 510, API 653, and API 570 a plus.
Onsite, permanent, full‑time position based in the Battleground site, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
