Chemours is seeking an Environmental Manager to join our growing Thermal and Specialized Solutions team. This position will be available at the La Porte Plant in La Porte, TX and report directly to the Plant Manager.

The primary focus of this Environmental Manager role is to provide strategic leadership and hands-on management for La Porte’s environmental program(s), ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations as well as corporate policies, standards, and site-specific requirements. The position also supports additional EHS tasks to meet team and site objectives, with an approximate 80% Environmental / 20% Safety focus.

As a senior-level, independent contributor with no direct reports, this expert-level EHS professional leverages deep technical and regulatory knowledge to deliver management-level guidance to groups and individuals across the site. While not a people manager, this role is highly influential—serving as a key member of the La Porte Leadership Team and acting as a trusted advisor, resource, and advocate for outstanding EHS performance and a positive safety culture.

The Environmental Manager is entrusted with planning and conducting complex assignments or strategic projects, often requiring the creation and implementation of innovative new approaches. The impact and visibility of this role make it an excellent springboard to broader leadership or specialized career opportunities, both within La Porte and across the organization.

This is a strong, hands-on role for someone eager to make a significant difference—shaping EHS strategies and outcomes, modeling exceptional safety behaviors, and contributing to a best-in-class work environment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide technical guidance, expertise, and leadership as the site environmental resource, driving compliance activities with respect to regulatory and corporate requirements.

Lead site compliance efforts for adherence to the Clean Water Act, NPDES, SPCC, Storm Water Pollution Prevention, groundwater protection, and RC14001 program management.

Lead site compliance efforts for adherence to the Clean Air Act, New Source Review, New Source Performance Standards, NESHAP, MACT Standards, Title V permitting, emissions inventories, air emission reduction initiatives, and other associated air program requirements.

Participate in regulatory audits and interactions with federal and state environmental agencies, respond to agency requests or notifications, and lead/coordinate 1st and 2nd party environmental audits and plant staff audits.

Participate in the preparation of environmental permit applications and renewals, complete environmental regulation applicability determinations, and evaluate environmental implications of site process changes.
