La Porte, TX. Position Type:
Part Time. Shift
Hours:
Monday-Friday 1:00pm-7:30pm;
Saturdays 7:30am-1:00pm.
- Consistently meet all Shell FCU Service Commitments;
Shell FCU Employee Creed and Shell FCU Service Distinctions. - Maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable rules and regulations within scope of duties, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Complete annual training sessions as instructed or scheduled.
- Perform job duties in compliance with Shell FCU policies, procedures, philosophy, and performance standards.
- Provide friendly, professional, and personal service to all members.
- Work the rotating opening, closing and Saturday schedule as needed.
- Receive and process member financial transactions, including but not limited to:
- Deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments; negotiate checks; process Cash Advances and Western Union transactions; process coin tickets.
- Work within assigned Teller I limits.
- Prepare CTR & SAR worksheets as required.
- Assist in identifying and preventing fraud.
- Handle cash and balance cash drawer daily; investigate and resolve out‑of‑balance conditions immediately.
- Assist with preparing cash/coin shipments and orders for the branch.
- Assist in training new staff or further development of team members.
- Assist members with service needs such as:
- Change of address, issue/maintenance ATM & debit cards, check orders, safe deposit box.
- Cross‑sell Credit Union products and services based on member needs.
- Comply with all procedures related to logs such as dual control, buy/sells from the vault, night drop, mail log.
- Initiate problem solving and troubleshooting, providing support in all branch areas as needed.
- Meet/exceed personal and branch goals.
- Assist the team with daily responsibilities such as:
- Following opening and closing procedures.
- Daily balancing of coin machine, vault, ATM, and card machine; closing SDB vault.
- Be willing to assist the team at other branch locations if needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Experience: Six months of cash handling practice acquired through Credit Union/Banking or retail experience is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of Credit Union products and services.
- Welcoming and helpful demeanor.
- Professional verbal communication skills.
- Ten‑key calculator and basic computer skills.
- Accuracy with numbers and attention to detail.
- Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to work in an open‑concept workspace/environment.
Regularly required to bend and stand; may at times need to lift, carry, and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Working ConditionsExposure to potential hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees will receive instructions and procedures to minimize risk.
