Primary
Purpose:
Assist and support the planning, organization, and execution of maintenance, operational and custodial services across the district/facility. This position is responsible for purchasing, contract coordination, regulatory compliance, and ensuring all staff maintain required certifications. The role works closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations. Handle confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district personnel, outside agencies, and the public.
- Three years successful work experience in purchasing and school district operations (preferred)
- CTSBO or CTSBS (or ability to obtain)
- IPM Coordinator certification (or ability to obtain)
- Knowledge of the basic school plant maintenance, operations and custodial
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage budgets and personnel
- Advanced experience working with purchasing and budget in a public education environment
- Advanced experience E‑Finance, Time Clock Plus and Brightly
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the maintenance and operations budget
- Track expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budget
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining service quality
- Coordinate all purchasing activities including requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, budget amendments, employee reimbursements, direct pays and vendor communication for M&O and Safety & Security
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory needed
- Obtain and maintain contracts within the department
- Work closely with accounts payable to make sure invoices are accurate, turned in and paid in a timely manner
- Meet with vendors and supplies/equipment, coordinate with foreman to evaluate products, and make recommendation for purchases
- Supervise supply inventories and records pertaining to all supplies ordered and distributed to all maintenance and operations personnel
- Serve as the designated IPM Coordinator
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal IMP regulations
- Maintain required documentation, notifications, and reporting related to services
- Monitor and track required certifications and licenses for maintenance and operations staff
- Ensure employees maintain current and valid credentials
- Maintain records for all licensed staff
- Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule and local board policy
- Assist in coordinating daily maintenance and custodial operations as needed
- Support implementation of procedures, systems and best practices
- Oversee the work order, facility and inventory use Brightly system and monitor the flow from submission to completion
- Assist in generating reports and analyzing data
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Director of Maintenance & Facilities
- Actively participate in professional organizations pertaining to the position
- Contribute to the recommendation of sound policies directed toward program improvement in the maintenance, operations and custodial departments
- Assist in developing training options and/or improvement plans to ensure the best operation in the various departments
- Manage the continuing education for employees of all new procedures, products, and training methods relating to the departments
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
Assists in supervising, training, and evaluating the work of the warehouse, shipping/receiving, and the day-to-day operations

Salary InformationManual Trades Pay Grade 6, 240 Days
Min: $21.41 per hour
Mid: $25.80 per hour
Salary is based on job‑related experience
Other InformationThe district contributes $400 monthly to the cost of employee‑only health insurance which is $175 monthly greater than the state required amount of $225 monthly
