Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Ensure reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Use hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts.
  • Define mechanical clearance and tolerances between shafts, bearings, and couplings.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for major breakdowns on machines.
  • Assemble, install, adjust, and calibrate mechanical and electrical machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantle, repair, rebuild, and replace equipment and parts as needed.
  • Adhere to all plant safety policies.
  • Participate in plant‑wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to junior maintenance colleagues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manage work orders on the eMaint platform to report all executed tasks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and propose improvements in the execution of tasks.
  • Serve as an expert on pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, reading and interpreting circuits for troubleshooting and parts replacement.
  • Serve as an expert on different types of bearings and their mechanical applications.
  • Rebuild gearboxes and pneumatic clutches.
  • Replace servo motors.
Education and Experience

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, or an associate’s degree in an industrial related field such as Industrial Maintenance Technology, Millwright, or Mechatronics Technician, with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to select and operate appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and effective communication of issues and solutions to team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Skill in troubleshooting, disassembling, and reassembling manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under limited supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Basic electrical knowledge (multimeter use) and familiarity with 480

    VAC 3‑phase motors, contractors, fuses, breakers, etc.
  • Familiarity with machine manuals and drawings for preventive maintenance and parts ordering.
  • Experience with CMMS software.
  • Experience working on Drum Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with maintenance concepts (Corrective, Predictive and Preventive).
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: $39.34 per hour, with possible eligibility for a short‑term incentive. Greif offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, paid time off, and other competitive benefits effective day one.
