* ** Position Overview*
* We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Mechanical Assembler to join our team in La Porte, TX. Working in close partnership with the Production Control Manager, you will play a critical role in the administration of the quality control (QC) function. This includes the testing, assembly, and data administration of meters and communication modules in a fully temperature-controlled, air-conditioned facility.

Duties & Responsibilities *

** Testing & Assembly:
** Perform initial acceptance testing of meters using specialized work instructions and proving machinery. Assemble base meters to communication modules using manual and pneumatic tools.

** Programming & Data Management:
** Program communication modules according to customer specifications. Create and validate meter data management files using standard software tools to ensure they meet customer rules.

** Software Operation:
** Operate MPS software to verify that meters and modules are assembled properly.

** Quality & Calibration:
** Conduct visual inspections per standard documentation. Take ownership of local tooling care and calibration requirements; report any quality concerns to your supervisor.

** Team Participation:
** Attend daily production and safety meetings, participate in required training, and maintain a clean, organized workspace (Daily 5S).

** Required Experience & Skills*

* Experience:

** Prior production associate experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

** Technical

Skills:

** Ability to effectively use computer software (such as MPS or basic Windows applications).

** Abilities:*
* * Strong reading and reasoning skills to interpret quality codes and work instructions.

+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of an assembly team.

+ A proactive mindset and a willingness to implement process improvements when beneficial.

** Working Conditions &

Physical Requirements *
* + Physical activity/exertion is routine.

+ Ability to stand for long periods and lift 25-50 pounds overhead.

+ Ability to operate heavy machinery/tools as required (PPE provided and required).

+ Open to working overtime and weekends if necessary.

** Fully temperature-controlled with air conditioning.
