Role ProfileCustomer Sales and Service Representative – La Porte, TX (Leader Gasket) – Full‑Time, Non‑Exempt
Summary of the RoleThe Customer Sales and Service Representative provides direct support to Branch Managers and Sales Representatives to develop existing and prospective customers, ensuring branch growth targets are met.
Responsibilities- Maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
- Partner with Sales Representatives to provide sales quotes.
- Process incoming inquiries into the company sales system.
- Quote customers using working knowledge of products.
- Achieve budgeted branch sales goals.
- Assist A/R personnel in creating and establishing new accounts; follow up on collections.
- Coordinate with Sales Representatives and Branch management to keep account activities updated.
- Monitor delivery date commitments and expedite where appropriate.
- Monitor customer‑specific inventory for sales order fulfillment.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Provide technical/service support to account management, branch management, and internal/external customers.
- Perform other duties as trained and qualified.
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Independent work capability and ability in a fast‑paced environment.
- Multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Proficiency in math with units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, decimals).
- Moderate computer skills: MS Word, Excel, internet, customer portals, email; ability to use company software.
- Minimum 1 year business‑to‑business customer service experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age 18.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Background checks and drug screening may be required.
- 1‑3 years of customer service experience in industrial distribution.
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Product knowledge in hose, gasket, and conveyor systems.
This position is primarily office‑based but may require occasional visits to the warehouse. The environment may involve fluctuating temperatures, noise, dust, and typical industrial conditions. Employees must be able to work in a stationary position for extended periods, use standard office equipment, read and follow instructions and safety procedures, and wear required PPE.
