Austin Industrial, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced I&E Technician based in La Porte, Texas. This maintenance position operates on a 9/80 schedule with occasional overtime and no per diem.

• Layout, fabricate and install tubing and tub trays.
• Apply knowledge of mathematics to instrumentation, such as ratio and proportions, English-to-metric conversions, and related calculations.
• Read blueprints, schematics and loop drawings; prepare job reports.
• Assemble and disassemble electronic process controls, pneumatic controls and hydraulic systems and components.
• Calibrate equipment using common calibration procedures; read, interpret, and apply procedures.
• Understand pH and redox principles and equipment needed to measure them; control pH and redox of liquids.
• Work with Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Law and electrical components (diodes, capacitors, etc.).
• Understand steam behavior and related properties; apply chemical and physical principles in instrumentation (density, specific gravity, boiling/melting points, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and check electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment.
• Understand fundamental instrumentation loops and the function of each component in diverse loop types.
• Understand common chemical plant process equipment (distillation columns, heat exchangers, boilers, turbines, compressors).
• Apply procedures for measuring pressure, level, flow, temperature, weight, density, heat flux, humidity and moisture.
• Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet state regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education – no minimum education requirements.

Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
