Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Crane Operator to join our staff located at Pasadena, TX. The Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating stationary and traveling cranes to lift, move, position, and relocate materials, equipment, and structures within the industrial site. This role follows strict safety protocols and requires the ability to interpret verbal, written, and hand‑signal instructions.

Specific

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Operate cranes under general supervision to lift, move, and position materials or equipment.

* Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate crane speed, boom movement, and lift-line operations.

* Ensure all loads are properly rigged and secured prior to lifting.

* Complete daily safety inspections of the crane and identify any mechanical or operational issues.

* Perform minor crane repairs as needed and report major issues immediately.

* Clean, maintain, and lubricate crane equipment regularly.

* Complete job tickets, service summaries, and required documentation accurately.

* Set up crane equipment, including placing blocks, pads, and outriggers to prevent instability or capsizing.

* Assemble or adjust boom sections to modify lifting capacity.

* Follow signals from riggers and maintain constant situational awareness.

* Work within precise limits, tolerances, and safety standards.

* Take immediate action to avoid jobsite hazards such as utility lines, personnel, equipment, and falling objects.

* Start engines and operate throttles, switches, pedals, and levers to control crane movement.

* Maintain active NCCCO certifications to meet site and regulatory requirements.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

* Strong ability to work independently and within a team environment.

* Must be able to work overtime as required.

* Must follow all Austin Industrial and site policies and procedures.

* Effective communication skills with supervisors and co‑workers.

Requirements:

* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

* 3-5 years of crane or heavy‑equipment operation experience in an industrial environment.

Required

Certifications:

* NCCCO or NCCER

* 100‑Ton Certification

* 30‑Ton Certification

* 9‑Ton Broderson Certification

* Must meet all physical requirements listed above.

* Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.

* Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
