Summary of the RoleResponsibilities of the Maintenance Specialist will be to troubleshoot, maintain and repair all equipment related to the production process under the direction and tutelage of the Maintenance Lead. Perform scheduled maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records. Troubleshoot mechanical processes and controls as assigned. Assemble and install new production equipment, make mechanical repairs, and operate electrical and mechanical test equipment while following existing preventative maintenance programs and maintaining a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions.
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical processes and controls.
- Assemble and install new production equipment.
- Make mechanical repairs and operate electrical/test equipment.
- Follow the preventive maintenance program and use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform other duties as trained and qualified.
- Team player, able to work across functions.
- Hands‑on working approach.
- Strong entry‑level mechanical maintenance experience.
- Ability to work independently, identify problems, and improve downtime.
- Strong organizational and project‑management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical drawings.
- Vendor and contractor coordination.
- Emergency/unscheduled repairs during production.
- Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and learning ability concerning production equipment.
- Problem‑solving and customer service skills.
- Prioritization and interaction with diverse teams.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- 1‑3 years of related warehousing or production experience.
- Electrical experience, including wiring, reading prints, and installation/troubleshooting.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliability of transportation.
- Availability for overtime, nights, and weekends when required.
- 1–2 years of manufacturing experience; entry‑level hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills.
- Background checks and drug screening as required by company, customer, or DOT.
- Bi‑lingual Spanish/English.
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent education and experience.
- Frequent handling of up to 50 lbs independently, with additional assistance or mechanical aid for heavier items.
- Work at various surfaces and heights, including ladder and stair use.
- Extended periods of standing or sitting.
- Regular computer, keyboard, and mouse use.
- Travel to customer sites as needed.
- Exposure to noise, dust, temperature changes, and uneven surfaces.
- Use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, steel‑toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats.
- Read, write, and comprehend safety procedures and instructions.
