Role Overview
A Service Tech III in a Trucking Center will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on commercial and utility trucks. The role requires safe, professional service and documentation of work performed.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of commercial and utility trucks and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
- Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
- Demonstrate a wide array of commercial and utility trucks for customers.
- Assist with pick‑up and delivery of trucks and parts.
- Perform other duties assigned as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- 1‑2 years automotive / light truck and/or diesel experience for repairing/maintaining commercial and utility trucks; or trade school graduate.
- 1‑2 years above‑chassis rotation experience; and/or relevant training.
- Must own tools applicable to the position.
- Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
- This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
