Senior Field Technician – Construction Materials Testing (La Porte, Texas)

Intertek is actively seeking a Senior Field Technician to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek‑PSI) team in La Porte, Texas. This position offers an opportunity to advance a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.

• Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment for soil and/or concrete testing.
• Conduct material testing and provide data assessment through detailed reporting.
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams to guide testing activities.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Observe site activities and perform tasks using specific methods for complex assignments.
• Make detailed observations, interpret results, and maintain accurate documentation of test data.
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams, and attend project meetings.

• 5 years’ experience as a field technician or inspector in construction materials testing.
• Experience with Auger Cast Piles.
• Valid driver’s license with a reliable driving record.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Availability to work off‑shifts and overtime.
• Physical ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently (occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance).
• Strong oral communication skills (hearing) to receive detailed information.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ACI certification.
