Senior Maintenance Electrician – Steel Responsibilities
- Ensures reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance
- Performs mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, engineering specifications and work orders to perform maintenance and service
- Uses hand tools and measuring instruments to determine dimensional changes of parts
- Assembles, installs, adjusts and calibrates mechanical and electrical machinery and equipment
- Dismantles, repairs, rebuilds and replaces equipment and parts as needed
- Adheres to all plant safety policies and participates in plant‑wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing programs
- Provides assistance and guidance to junior maintenance colleagues
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Executes preventive maintenance on machines and electrical cabinets (cleaning, tightening terminals, replacing devices, organizing cables, grounding components, etc.)
- Manages work orders on the eMit plantform to report all executed tasks
- Diagnoses PLC input/output cards and other electrical issues
- Executes predictive maintenance to main power cabinets using a thermographic camera
- Performs root cause analysis for major breakdowns on machines
- Replaces and configures servo drives, VFDs and HMIs
- Replaces and troubleshoots 480
VAC motors, 120
VAC motors and servo motors
- Electrician Journeyman License or Industrial Electrician License
- High school diploma or college degree or technical training (Industrial Maintenance Technician, Automation Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Mechatronics Technician, etc.)
- 5+ years of recent experience in an industrial/manufacturing maintenance position
- Ability to select and operate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment
- Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Skill in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
- Familiarity with PNP and NPN sensors and analogical and digital control signals
- Capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Logical reasoning and troubleshooting skills for manufacturing equipment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 Electrical codes, arc flash/arc blast concepts and main circuit breaker replacement
- Proficiency in electrical print interpretation and device troubleshooting
- Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting/programming software (RSLogix
5000, TIA Portal, STUDIO
5000, SIMATIC Manager, etc.) - Experience with Profibus, Ethernet and PROFINET networks
- Experience troubleshooting automatic machines, and working under pressure
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus)
- Knowledge of maintenance concepts (Corrective, Predictive and Preventive) and CMMS software

Pay: $41.33 per hour. Position may also be eligible for a short‑term incentive.
