Position: Industrial Controls & Instrumentation Electrician (Incineration)
Step into a day on the Deer Park incineration team

At our Deer Park, TX incineration facility, you’ll start your shift ensuring critical process instrumentation is calibrated and verified, interpreting PLC ladder logic to diagnose issues, and keeping motors, MCC buckets, and control circuits operating safely and reliably. You’ll collaborate closely with electrical and maintenance teammates to prioritize work orders, perform precision bench calibrations on both new and legacy instruments, and document every step with accurate logs.

Whether you’re tracing a fault in a digital I/O loop, installing new system control wiring, or tuning a VFD, you’ll be central to a 24/7/365 operation that protects people and the environment.

Union status, pay, and schedule

Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA):
This position is represented. Pay, scheduling, and testing requirements follow the union contract.

Work schedule (per CBA):
Rotating 4 day shifts/4 off (on-call), then 4 night shifts/4 off (off-call). Our operation runs 24/7/365, including weekends and federal holidays.

Hourly wage (per CBA): $45.23/hour. Additional earnings may include overtime opportunities and other CBA-defined benefits.

What you’ll do Champion safety every minute by following all procedures, policies, and safe work practices.

Troubleshoot instrumentation and control circuit malfunctions, including digital and analog signals.

Diagnose and repair motors, MCC buckets, and associated control devices.

Open and interpret PLC/DCS ladder logic to understand field interactions and resolve faults.

Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.

Execute precise bench calibrations for new and existing instruments.

Install control and power wiring; build out cabling, power distribution, and motor control centers.

Maintain thorough records, logs, and documentation.

Support electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities as assigned.

Credentials required (per CBA)
One of the following: a TDLR Journeyman Electrician’s License (or higher) or an NCCER Industrial Electrician certification.

Due to CBA requirements, we cannot accept a “TDLR Electrical Apprentice” or “NCCER Instrumentation Technician” for this role.

All credentials are verified prior to advancing; applicants lacking required credentials will not be considered.

What you bring

High school diploma or equivalent.
3–5+ years of industrial experience performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of motor controls, digital/analog control circuits, and instrumentation calibrations.

NFPA 70E/Arc Flash knowledge.

Ability to navigate PLC/DCS ladder logic and understand field equipment interactions.

Experience reading blueprints and instrumentation diagrams (preferred).Knowledge of Data Control Systems (DCS).Hands-on work with 480V and below.

VFD programming familiarity (preferred).Capability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods.

Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
