Position: Level II Rope Technician 4 - Austin Industrial (La Porte TX)

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Rope Access Technician 3 to join our team. This role involves performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs in hard-to-reach areas using rope access techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be comfortable working at heights in various environments, including construction sites. Involves overseeing and performing advanced rope access work in various industries, such as construction, inspection, and maintenance.

Level 4 technicians is a senior-level rope access professional who can perform complex, high-risk tasks at significant heights, often in challenging environments. This role builds on lower-level rope technician skills and requires advanced technical expertise, leadership and compliance with strict safety standards. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Advanced Rope Access Operations:
    Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations at elevated or difficult-to-reach locations using specialized rope access techniques, including rigging ropes, pulley systems, and harnesses.
  • Equipment Setup and Maintenance:
    Rig, deploy, and inspect all rope access equipment (ropes, harnesses, anchors, hardware) before and after use to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Complex Trade Tasks:
    Execute trade-specific work such as welding, grinding, concrete repair, sealant application, painting, or electrical/mechanical installations at height.
  • Comprehensive Inspections:
    Conduct visual, photographic, and technical inspections of structural components, coatings, and systems, documenting findings in detailed reports.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to all safety protocols, work plans, and risk assessments (e.g., IRATA, SPRAT standards), and participate in pre-job briefings, Job Safety Analyses, and toolbox talks.
  • Emergency Response:
    Perform and document rescue operations, first aid, and emergency procedures as required.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including observations, issues, and incidents.
  • Team Coordination:
    Communicate effectively with team members and other professionals to plan, coordinate, and complete projects efficiently.
  • Training and Development:
    Continually update skills and knowledge through training, staying current with industry standards and new techniques.
  • Regulatory Adherence:
    Follow all relevant regulations and company safety procedures, and report any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications required for this position:

Education – no minimum education requirements.

Experience:

4 years of Journeyman level experience.

Certification/Licenses: ASNT Level II certification, NCCER, a Valid Driver's License, and a TWIC Card.
