Position: On Course Host

Trilogy® at La Quinta

Spectacular mountain views allowing active days and quiet evenings. The community combines active adult lifestyle choices including golf, fitness center, pools, on-site spa and Café Solaz along with two club houses.

Where: Located on the southern edge of La Quinta, California.

Pay: $16.90 per hour

BENEFITS

New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

Full‑Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full‑Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

Part‑Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The On Course Host welcomes players at the first tee and assures guests have an exceptional golf experience by offering customer service throughout their visit, monitoring the pace of play for all groups on the course, and creating a safe play environment by protecting roped‑off areas and driving the course to look for potential hazards. This position reports to the Head Golf Professional.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate the core values and mission of Blue Star Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
  • Check in with the manager on duty to learn about the day’s activities, events, golf course conditions, and specific information about the course needed by the players.
  • Set up the welcome area with guest amenities. Make sure radio, or other communication device, is in working order. When there is time between groups of players, maintain cleanliness of the area and restock the amenities table.
  • Welcome the guests and provide practical information about safely driving the golf carts, the GPS system, course hazards and out‑of‑play areas, etc.
  • Maintain a friendly and enthusiastic social presence with introductions and calling guests by name.
  • Coordinate the flow of players onto the golf course. Provide the players with the course rules and invite the group to begin play.
  • Keep accurate records for each group of players, according to Club guidelines. Record the tee time, golf cart numbers, and players’ names.
  • Monitor the course to make sure players observe golf course and golf cart rules.
  • Check in with each group of players multiple times throughout the day, according to Club guidelines. Offer exceptional customer service, including raking bunkers or looking for balls, if needed, bringing items from the Golf Shop, or setting up dinner reservations.
  • Coordinate the flow of play on the course. Ride the golf course backwards to check if there are gaps or if a group is holding up play. If there is a problem with the pace of play, inform the slow guest or group of the need to pick up the pace.
  • Communicate with the Guest Service Professional and other team members throughout the day to learn of any schedule changes or other information to assist in providing a safe and enjoyable experience for the players.
  • Know Golf Shop products and Club services and be able to respond to questions and suggest beneficial products and services.
  • Be aware of safety requirements and report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Work at a golf course or similar customer service experience preferred.
