Job Description
The Estimator prepares and develops detailed cost estimates for construction projects, focusing on materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors. This role performs accurate quantity takeoffs, interprets civil, architectural, and structural plans, and builds complete bid proposals that support successful project delivery. The Estimator collaborates closely with project managers and field teams to ensure constructability, alignment, and accurate cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

The Estimator prepares and develops detailed cost estimates for construction projects, focusing on materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors. This role performs accurate quantity takeoffs, interprets civil, architectural, and structural plans, and builds complete bid proposals that support successful project delivery. The Estimator collaborates closely with project managers and field teams to ensure constructability, alignment, and accurate cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Prepare and develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors for construction projects.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and interpret civil, architectural, and structural plans and specifications.
- Build complete bid proposals, including clear assumptions, alternates, and exclusions.
- Solicit, review, compare, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
- Identify scope gaps, project risks, and value-engineering opportunities to improve project cost and efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure constructability and alignment between estimates and field execution.
- Maintain and update historical cost data to support future estimates and benchmarking.
- Support cost tracking and analysis for awarded projects to compare actual costs against estimates and refine cost models.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to increase accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in the estimating process.
- Participate in preconstruction and bidding activities to support project pursuit and planning.
- Strong blueprint and technical plan-reading ability, including civil, architectural, and structural drawings.
- Proficiency with estimating tools such as Bid2
Win and Adtech. - Solid analytical and cost-modeling skills for construction projects.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- 3+ years of estimating experience, preferably in construction or civil construction.
- Experience in construction estimation, bidding, and preconstruction processes.
- Knowledge of civil construction and heavy civil project requirements.
- Ability to use estimating software and construction management tools to prepare accurate bids.
Skills & Qualifications
- Background in construction management, civil construction, or a related field.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, production-driven construction environment.
- Ability to identify value-engineering opportunities and propose cost-effective alternatives.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors.

Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
