Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Systems, the EDI Lead is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing EDI solutions, including creating maps, configuring communication profiles, and testing integrations. The EDI Lead will work collaboratively with vendors, customers, IT, Finance, Operations, and other business teams to ensure that EDI implementations and support are addressed quickly with a high sense of urgency and customer service.
Additionally, the EDI Lead will also be responsible for partnering with customers, internal business resources and EDI Developers to implement EDI transactions and enhancements.
- Creating and maintaining EDI maps for various formats such as X12, EDIFACT, and XML.
- Setting up and managing communication profiles for trading partners, including protocols like FTP, SFTP, and AS2.
- Designing and implementing new business processes within Sterling B2B Integrator, including error handling and notifications.
- Configuring adapters to connect to various systems, such as databases (JDBC), JD Edwards, and file systems (SFTP, FTP).
- Performing unit, integration, and system testing to ensure EDI integrations function correctly and troubleshooting any issues.
- Leading the onboarding of new trading partners into the EDI environment.
- Familiarity with common EDI standards and document types (e.g., 850, 852, 855, 810, 820, 856, 940, 943, 944, 945).
- Expertise in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, EDI technologies, and related protocols.
- Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
The EDI Lead must be self‑motivated, able to problem‑solve, detail‑oriented, and has the ability to inspire. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of personal integrity.
- Working knowledge of how to create transaction specification documents.
- Mentor and train EDI developers.
- Distribution experience.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office.
- SQL (Microsoft SQL Server).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of EDI system experience with a focus on distribution documents (e.g., 850, 855, 856, 810, 867, 943, 944, 945).
- Experience with JD Edwards preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator application.
- Experience with sFTP, FTP and AS2.
- Experience with BPML, Python, XML.
Less than 10% travel required.
