Position Overview
A reputable manufacturing client in LaVergne, TN is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator to join their team. This role involves operating multiple top and bottom grinding machines such as Stahli 605 and 702 models to produce precise, high-quality products that meet blueprint and production standards. Candidates who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and reliable are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate Stahli or Blanchard top and bottom grinding machines.
- Install, change, and dress grinding wheels as needed to ensure optimal operation.
- Monitor required stock removal while maintaining strict tolerance specifications.
- Gauge inserts for dimensional accuracy and visually inspect surfaces using scopes.
- Support production by operating additional equipment as assigned.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderately complex machine issues independently.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and demonstrate a commitment to a culture of safe work practices.
- Follow detailed work instructions and operating procedures, especially on non-standard operations.
- Ensure all products meet specifications listed in control plans, routings, and blueprints.
- Consistently meet or exceed daily production goals and demonstrate dependable attendance.
- Communicate any safety or quality issues and production updates with supervisors and peers across shifts.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience with grinding equipment required.
- Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Temperature-controlled facility with dust collection systems to ensure a clean and safe workspace.
- PPE is required: safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, and gloves including cut-resistant gloves when relevant.
- Standing for up to eight hours per shift, with two scheduled breaks.
- Periodic walking, reaching, bending, and lifting trays weighing up to 33 pounds.
