This role focuses on assembling custom automated equipment, fixtures, and machinery from start to finish using blueprints and technical drawings. You interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, install and align machine frames and conveyors, and integrate guarding, tooling, and automation components. You also assemble and install mechanical and pneumatic components and support the build and integration of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Assemble custom automated equipment, fixtures, and machinery according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

• Interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, schematics, and materials lists to plan and execute machine builds.

• Install and align machine frames, conveyors, guarding, tooling, and automation components to meet performance and safety requirements.

• Assemble and install mechanical components such as bearings, gearboxes, shafts, and related hardware.

• Install and integrate pneumatic components including cylinders, valves, regulators, and manifolds.

• Assist with the build, installation, and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete assembly and alignment tasks accurately.

• Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting during assembly and startup to ensure proper machine operation.

• Operate shop equipment such as drill presses and grinders as needed to support fabrication and assembly.

• Follow established procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines throughout the machine build process.

• Collaborate with engineering and other team members to resolve build issues and improve assembly methods.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for tools and equipment used in daily work.

• Minimum of 2+ years of machine building or mechanical assembly experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics.

• Hands-on experience working with automation equipment, robotics, conveyors, and industrial machinery.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues.

• Ability to use precision measuring tools and common hand and power tools safely and accurately.

• Proficiency in mechanical assembly techniques, including fitting, aligning, and fastening components.

• Experience with electrical and mechanical aspects of automation, including wiring and machine operating.

• Ability to work with pneumatic components and assist with hydraulic and pneumatic system builds.

• Comfort using shop equipment such as drill presses and grinders.

• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable machinery.

• Mechatronics degree or formal training in mechatronics is a plus.

• Tooling or tool and die experience is a plus.

• Machining or machinist experience is a plus.

• Experience with troubleshooting automation systems and robotics is beneficial.

• Familiarity with tape measures, grinding operations, and general mechanical and electrical assembly practices.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and build teams.
