Overview

A Quality Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that the product meets quality standards for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage quality in the manufacturing process to ensure products meet quality standards for customers.
  • Train entry level Quality Inspectors (Quality Inspector I) as needed.
  • Work independently with minimal direction from others and communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional groups.
  • Create NCPs in QT9 with complete and clear information, including defect pictures and highlighted print of the defect.
  • Pull drawings in Vault and access documents in QT9 document portal.
  • Interpret all aspects of drawings— sectional views, BOM breakdown, models.
  • Able to interpret weld spacing call outs and determine weld defects using visual inspection.
  • Able to markup drawings accurately and enter scrap and transfer parts in ABAS; verify torque with DTC wrench.
  • Quarantine suspect product by checking stock level and coordinating with inventory.
  • Help maintain Lean Manufacturing concepts and support quality improvements across departments.
Qualifications
  • Understand basic aspects of engineering drawings: length, width, bend angle, revision level, title block.
  • Familiar with calipers, micrometers, and tape measure.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with team members and cross-functional groups; ability to communicate with SQEs as needed.
  • Ability to transfer parts in ABAS and access documents in QT9.
  • Be familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts.

A Quality Inspector must also be able to demonstrate quality skills in other departments as well.
