PURPOSE OF POSITIONResponsible for assurance of quality standards through process auditing and in-process inspection of product, as well as incoming inspections of raw materials received at building 2 to ensure that specifications are met. Reports potential quality related problems to quality management. Recommends corrective actions, as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Conducts in-process inspections and audits of processes according to a set schedule to ensure product specifications are met in all aspects of the manufacturing process.
- Prepares quality reports for trend analysis and identification of problems areas.
- Assists quality management in identifying, communicating and facilitating the need for changes to enhance process and product quality.
- Coordinates collection of data for use in the repair process.
- Conducts daily audits of the repair process to ensure the work instructions are being followed and that the individuals performing the work have been trained.
- Interfaces with manufacturing and quality management when defects or deviations to specifications are found.
- Communicates potential quality problems to quality management.
- Conducts incoming inspection on components from vendors, as required.
- Records quality data and transactions.
- Communicates results in reports and assists in Corrective Action Reports as necessary.
- Provides support to the repair process during the implementation of new work instructions and changes to existing work instructions.
- Assists with the implementation of quality program(s) into manufacturing based on ISO requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment by identifying all safety hazards and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Responsible for utilizing proper lifting and material movement techniques at all times.
- Actively works to improve processes in the company.
- Performs cosmetic checks on units.
- Performs Quality Audits as assigned by the direction and training of the Quality Engineer or Quality Manager.
- Two (2) years experience in a manufacturing or service environment required.
- One (1) year quality auditing experience in a reverse logistics or return environment preferred.
- Technical experience preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Computer literate in a Windows Environment;
Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Internet. - Basic math skills.
- Accurate counting skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Analytical abilities.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be self-motivated with ability to use own initiative.
- Flexibility to change direction frequently with little notice.
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Able to complete projects under tight deadlines, even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
- Able to create reports based on information obtained while performing duties.
