POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision by the Credit Manager, a Collector ensures that The ICEE Company is always represented in a professional and courteous manner. Customer and service are always capitalized at The ICEE Company, and we have a commitment to success to not only our customers but also our partners and our peers. A collector is responsible for calling customers and collecting on past due invoices.
They are held accountable to research and reconcile any open issues with regards to the following: credits, unapplied cash, misapplied cash, disputes etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Contactscustomersfor past due balance, thoroughly documenting pertinent information.
- Communicates with field personnel regarding past due invoices and disputes.
- Researches and reconcilesall open issues (credits, unapplied cash, misapplied cash, disputes).
- Mailsand/or faxescorrespondence (letters and statements).
- Communicatesaccount changes/updates with corresponding department(s).
- Places andreleasescustomer account holds.
- Workswith collection agency assigning accounts and responding to inquiries.
- Providesmanagement a status of past due accounts.
- Frequently e-mails,mails,and/or faxescorrespondence (letters and statements).
- Performs otheressential duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
COMPETENCIES:
To perform this job successfully, the Collector must be comfortable working with JD Edwards. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Able to successfully research and reviewcustomer accounts. Identifies and resolvesmatters.
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Based Systems to include but not limed to:
Word, Excel, and Outlook. - Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skillsallowing for effectivecommunicationwith customers, vendors, employees, and leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
- The capacity to work under pressure and the adaptability to work in an ever-changing environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two(2) years of Accounts Receivable experience required.
- Five(5) years of prior Collections experience preferred.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Capability to type 35 WPM, and the ability be on the phone 90% of the workday.
