POSITION SUMMARY

At Ironsmith Fire, a fire sprinkler Inspector is primarily responsible for performing NFPA 25 inspections of fire sprinkler systems. The types of systems being tested and inspected will include any type of fire protection sprinkler systems included in NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D. Also included in the testing and inspections of these systems are fire pumps, manual and automatic standpipe systems, fire hydrant certifications and backflow preventer certifications.

This position requires a high level of professionalism due to being in front of property managers, owners, and tenants of the properties being inspected.

  • Develop and maintain good rapport with property managers, tenants, and owners of the properties you are assigned to inspect.
  • Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other inspectors in training.
  • Suggest improvements within the Ironsmith Fire system if you witness inefficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements without compromising quality or safety.
  • Implement safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries on job sites.
  • Uphold our commitment to delivering unparalleled customer service by enforcing strict adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Prioritize safety above all else, fostering a culture of safety consciousness and accountability among your team.
  • Request from the daywork superintendent to schedule an inspector apprentice when it is necessary to fulfill the requirements of specific inspections.
  • Perform all aspects of NFPA 25 fire sprinkler inspections.
  • Certify fire hydrants and backflow prev enters upon installation of new devices in the new construction and daywork departments, as required.
  • Document and communicate required specific protocols in the Ironsmith Fire CRM software for individual properties so future inspections on that site can become more efficient.
  • Complete and turn in inspection reports to the customer and Ironsmith Fire within 2 days of final completion of the inspection.
  • Basic understanding of costs, budgets, and which financial metrics you personally affect.
  • Maintain a meticulously clean and organized company vehicle.
  • Maintain proper service and maintenance routine on the company vehicle in accordance with the Ironsmith Fire company policy.
  • Maintain assigned tools and equipment and report any defects or problems immediately upon discovery.
  • Provide pictures and detailed records/descriptions of all pertinent information during the fire sprinkler inspections in the Ironsmith Fire software. This includes items needing repair, alarm codes/contact information, device locations, etc.
  • Work closely with the deficiency sales reps to ensure the customers are able to receive accurate proposals for the deficiency repairs required within 48 hours of inspection completion.
  • Provide change order scope sheets to the Daywork Superintendent for noticeable changes from what was agreed to on the inspection proposal/contract.
  • Provide basic technical support to customers regarding fire sprinkler systems.
