Job SummaryThe Punching Field Manager ensures jobs are completed on schedule, to correct specifications, within budget, and in accordance with company standards and building code. The role maintains strong relationships with customers, manages teams, and resolves issues promptly.
Responsibilities- Walk‑through quality inspections to ensure all jobs meet SSC Standards and Code.
- Walk homes with appropriate documents for accurate takeoffs.
- Ensure Trim Crews and Punch Carpenters have the correct materials.
- Walk all active neighborhoods twice weekly to update tracking sheets.
- Turn in tracking sheets on Fridays to facilitate job starts.
- Ensure all tasks are completed and submitted (takeoffs, inspections, etc.) per neighborhood daily.
- Maintain job starts in an orderly manner for neighborhood site visits.
- Compile daily notes from walks, customer correspondence, and punch carpenter reports.
- Complete daily punch carpenter tasks with organized lists.
- Oversee warranty for your area.
- Build relationships with customers’ builders.
- Stay current on industry trends and news.
- Participate in any SSC‑provided training.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and hourly employees.
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands‑on experience with construction schedules.
- Working knowledge of trim installation in a production environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including prioritization, problem‑solving, and decision‑making.
- Budget management for operating and job costs.
- Time‑management skills and ability to multi‑task.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
A comprehensive four‑week training program will equip you with the skills needed for this role. Training may be conducted in another installation market in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Georgia. If travel is required, meals and accommodation will be provided for the duration of training.
