PLC Technician
This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) systems and industrial automation equipment within a recycling facility. The PLC Technician supports electrical and mechanical systems, ensures reliable operation of industrial controls, and contributes to preventive maintenance activities to keep production running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems to ensure reliable operation of industrial automation and controls.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical components operating up to 480V and as low as 120V.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of three-phase motors and related equipment.
- Run conduit and perform wiring tasks in accordance with safety standards and electrical codes.
- Perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Support mechanical repair activities, including work on hydraulic systems and related components.
- Assist with facilities maintenance and management tasks as needed within the recycling facility.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to support accurate recordkeeping.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and operations team members to identify and resolve recurring issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.
Essential Skills
- 1–3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing PLC systems and industrial automation controls.
- Ability to work safely with electrical components up to 480V and as low as 120V.
- Experience supporting three-phase motors, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems and performing repairs.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and the ability to service hydraulic systems.
- Experience in industrial maintenance or facilities maintenance/management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on root-cause analysis.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, procedures, and equipment documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a recycling facility or similar industrial environment.
- Familiarity with running conduit and performing industrial electrical installations.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment while maintaining safety and quality.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance, operations, and production teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

Work Environment
This position is based in a recycling facility that is non-climate controlled but maintained as a clean and orderly environment. The work involves hands-on tasks around industrial equipment, electrical systems up to 480V, three-phase motors, and hydraulic systems. The role may require working in various areas of the facility, navigating around machinery, and performing tasks that involve running conduit and performing industrial maintenance.
Employees are expected to follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
