The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting equipment, materials, tools, and supplies between jobsites, vendors, and the BURG laydown yard in support of daily construction operations. This role engages with yard personnel, project teams, vendors, and craft coworkers to coordinate safe and timely deliveries that support project execution. The Truck Driver is important because reliable transportation and material movement directly impact project productivity, schedule adherence, and operational readiness across the BURG.
Key Responsibilities- Material and Equipment Transport:
Transport materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently between jobsites, vendors, and the yard. - Vehicle Operation and Inspection:
Operate and inspect company vehicles and trailers in alignment with safety and transportation requirements. - Delivery Coordination:
Coordinate deliveries and pickups with project teams, yard personnel, and vendors to support project schedules. - Loading and Securement:
Assist with loading, unloading, and securing materials and equipment for safe transportation. - Safety and Communication:
Apply safe driving practices and communicate delivery status, issues, and hazards to operational teams.
- Deliver tools, equipment, materials, and supplies between jobsites and the BURG laydown yard.
- Transport forming systems, scaffolding, hardware, consumables, and other operational materials as assigned.
- Complete scheduled pickups and deliveries from vendors and suppliers.
- Operate company trucks, trailers, and approved hauling equipment safely and responsibly.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and trailers.
- Report maintenance concerns, damage, or mechanical issues promptly.
- Communicate delivery timing and routing information with project teams and yard personnel.
- Confirm delivery locations and material requirements prior to transport.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities with yard and field coworkers.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment using approved methods and equipment.
- Secure loads in accordance with transportation regulations and company procedures.
- Inspect loads prior to transport to confirm stability and proper securement.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company safety requirements, and traffic laws while operating vehicles.
- Apply safe driving practices in varying weather, traffic, and jobsite conditions.
- Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
