The Warehouse Inbound Associate is a role that operates within the GOVX Fulfillment Center (GXFC) located in La Vergne, TN. This position is responsible for receiving and processing inventory shipments in a timely and accurate manner. The associate will match shipping documents and use a handheld scanner to receive and replenish inbound inventory to designated pickable locations. The associate will also perform inventory checks, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and report any issues to the supervisor.
This position’s work assignments and tasks can change daily based on the immediate needs of GXFC.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work- This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 1-hour lunch.
- Occasional Saturday and weekday overtime may be required depending on work volume.
- Receive product correctly using proper documents and unload shipments according to GXFC specifications and quality standards.
- Verify the accuracy, quality, and completeness of each shipment before receiving it in GXFC systems.
- Learn and utilize warehouse equipment to stock inventory on shelves.
- Use a handheld scanner to accurately scan barcodes and track inventory.
- Label and load packages in preparation for carrier pickup.
- Follow safety rules and procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment.
- Keep the warehouse organized and clean; report any damage or hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned by the supervisor.
This job operates in a professional environment subject to state and local health ordinances. This role routinely uses warehouse equipment such as computers, scanners, pallet jacks, and U-boats.
Physical Demands- Must be able to stand up to 80% of the time.
- Must be able to push/pull carts weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
- Operate equipment with repetitive motions (i.e., typing, scanning, packaging, etc.).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
Minimal travel is required for this position.
