The Senior Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of warehouse and receiving operations supporting a high-volume manufacturing environment. This position oversees the safe and efficient receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of approximately $400 million in production materials and ensures materials are available to support production and business needs. The position leads approximately 6 salaried and 120 hourly employees across two shifts and is responsible for staffing, employee development, safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, equipment, and departmental financial performance.
The Senior Warehouse Manager works closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Production Control, Quality, Finance, and other business functions to improve material flow, warehouse efficiency, and overall operational performance.
- Lead daily warehouse and receiving operations across multiple shifts, ensuring materials are received, stored, and delivered to production accurately and on time.
- Manage and develop warehouse leadership and hourly teams, including staffing, performance management, training, and succession planning.
- Establish and monitor key performance measures related to safety, inventory accuracy, productivity, receiving, material movement, and service levels.
- Improve warehouse layout, storage capacity, material flow, and labor utilization to support operational efficiency and future growth.
- Maintain strong inventory control and ensure accurate receiving, material locations, transfers, and inventory transactions.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Materials teams to ensure production has the materials needed to meet schedules and customer requirements.
- Manage the warehouse operating budget and identify opportunities to control costs and improve productivity.
- Evaluate and plan for warehouse equipment, racking, technology, and other capital needs.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and strengthening warehouse processes.
- Analyze operational data and address performance gaps through corrective actions and process improvements.
- Communicate operational needs, risks, staffing requirements, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
- Support major business initiatives including production changes, facility expansions, process improvements, and organizational changes.
- Maintain a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment across all shifts.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Management, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive warehouse, materials, logistics, or inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing salaried and hourly employees.
- Experience managing budgets, operational KPIs, inventory, and warehouse equipment.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems, barcode technology, and inventory management systems preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Strong understanding of warehouse, receiving, inventory, and manufacturing operations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders across different functions and shifts.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
- Strong written and spoken English skills;
Spanish or Swahili bilingual skills preferred. - Proficient with Microsoft Office and business systems.
- Fully onsite position.
- Ability to travel occasionally, including internationally, with travel expected to be less than 5%.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and move throughout warehouse and manufacturing areas for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
