Job Description Summary The LaFetra College of Education at the University of La Verne invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor to begin in the Fall 2026 academic term with teaching responsibilities possible within the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and/or Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership Programs. We seek dynamic, creative, scholarly practitioners committed to quality teaching, student success, and scholarship.
We are seeking candidates who can teach quantitative or qualitative research courses and/or the programmatic leadership courses. The core competencies of the programs include leadership, change, and contribution as they relate to personal and interpersonal, team, and organizational effectiveness. The aim of our leadership programs is to develop scholarly practitioners as leaders and architects of change who make significant contributions to the organizations and communities they serve.
This role could also involve a leadership position within the college.
- The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) with an emphasis in leadership or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Have a depth and breadth of knowledge of pertinent theories and practices relative to leadership program content.
- Evidence as the instructor of record successfully teaching graduate/postgraduate level leadership courses.
- Evidence as the instructor of record successfully using technology and teach graduate/postgraduate level online/blended courses.
- Proficient in adult learning strategies both face-to-face and virtually in small and large group settings.
- Possess effective interpersonal skills – able to work with diverse, adult populations in academic and professional working relationships.
- Have a record of scholarship and research in the discipline.
- Documented experience working with a diverse student population and working knowledge of social justice and culturally responsive classrooms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong leadership capabilities and a demonstrated commitment to integrity and fairness.
- Experience teaching or leading in PK-12 education.
- Experience teaching or leading in a Community College setting.
- Experience integrating emerging technologies, data analytics, or AI tools in leadership teaching and research.
- Experience with the Dissertation in Practice model.
- Demonstrated ability to apply innovative technologies to advance student learning and scholarly practice.
- Experience designing, coordinating, or assessing graduate programs in leadership, organizational development, or education.
- Evidence of scholarly publication, grant activity, or conference presentations related to leadership, organizational change, or equity in education.
