Job Description Summary
The OCCE Student Lead will be responsible for supporting the community-based learning faculty, students, community partners and co-curricular community engagement activities in an office that values mutually beneficial relationships and cultural competency.
Specific Duties- Assist with event planning and coordinating, including, but not limited to – FLEX Community Engagement Day, MLK Day of Service and other service events as needed.
- Handle clerical tasks in the office, such as answering incoming calls and emails, maintaining documents and word processing, help organize and maintain office common areas and run errands as needed.
- Collect data for assessment purposes and create, maintain and enter information into database.
- Manage database, software programs, and social media accounts, including, but not limited to Give Pulse, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Canva, and Instagram.
- Create and design flyers for campus events and local community partners.
- Support OCCE Director and Program Coordinator/Office Manager.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as needed.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a highly interactive environment.

- Must be an active ULV student.

- 1 to 2 years of related experience with nonprofit organizations or community service

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act ( ACA ), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
