Job Description Summary
- The Non-Tenure Track Professor of Practice in Educational Technology will play a central role in advancing instructional design innovation within the LaFetra College of Education (LFCE) at the University of La Verne. This year-to-year position focuses on designing and supporting high-quality learning experiences across online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced environments. The role will work closely with faculty to develop research-based course design, integrate emerging educational technologies, and ensure alignment with accreditation standards and program learning outcomes.
The position will also support the Center for Learning Innovation (CLI) in advancing AI-enhanced learning models, accessible course design, and data-informed instructional improvement. In addition to these responsibilities, the position will include teaching a limited number of courses within the College of Education. The annual appointment is initially a one-year appointment, renewable based on the evolving needs of CLI and the College.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Design & Learning Experience Development
- Lead instructional design initiatives to support the development of high-quality online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses across LFCE programs.
- Partner with faculty to design research-based learning experiences aligned with program learning outcomes, accreditation standards, and best practices in adult learning.
- Guide faculty through course design processes including learning objective alignment, backward design, authentic assessment development, and student engagement strategies.
- Develop instructional templates, design frameworks, and digital learning standards to ensure consistency and quality across programs.
- Support faculty in integrating multimedia, interactive learning activities, and digital tools that enhance engagement and deepen learning.
- Accreditation Compliance & Instructional Technology Integration
- Assist LFCE programs in integrating educational technologies to meet accreditation requirements (e.g., ISTE Standards for Educators, NCATE).
- Ensure technology-enhanced learning aligns with accreditation standards, curriculum goals, and student learning outcomes.
- Provide data-driven insights on technology integration's impact on instructional effectiveness.
- Program Support & Technology Adaptation
- Support faculty and staff in adopting instructional technologies to enhance learning, assessment, and administrative efficiency.
- Design and deliver workshops, consultations, and training resources on emerging technologies, digital equity, and responsible technology use.
- Promote universal design principles and accessibility in digital course development.
- Development & Management of Educational Technology Initiatives
- Lead and manage technology-driven projects to enhance LFCE programs and student learning experiences.
