Job Description

Summary:

The Alumni Engagement Student Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Alumni Engagement and University Advancement teams. This position works closely with alumni engagement staff to help create meaningful events, programs, and experiences that bring the University of La Verne's mission, values, and brand to life while strengthening connections between alumni, students, and the university community. The Student Assistant will provide administrative, operational, and creative support for alumni engagement initiatives, including event planning and execution, communications, marketing, data management, and project coordination.

This role assists with the development and distribution of alumni communications, creation of promotional materials, social media content, event registration processes, and tracking of program deliverables and timelines. The Student Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement and regularly collaborates with professional staff across University Advancement. This position also provides opportunities to interact with alumni, donors, university leadership, and other high-level stakeholders, offering valuable experience in event management, communications, nonprofit advancement, relationship building, and higher education administration.

Specific Duties:
Key responsibilities may include:
Assisting with event logistics, including registrations, guest communications, on-site support, and post-event follow-up. Maintaining accurate records and data within alumni and advancement systems. Tracking project timelines, deliverables, and event outcomes to ensure successful program implementation. Conducting research and gathering information to support alumni outreach and engagement strategies. Providing exceptional customer service to alumni, donors, volunteers, campus partners, and university stakeholders.

Assisting with special projects and other duties as assigned that support the goals of the Alumni Engagement and University Advancement teams
