Position Title: EHS Field Specialist
Location: La Verne, CA 91750 (This position is out in the field 60% visiting our other locations: Deimer, Jensen, and Soto Street)
Duration: Upto 6 months
Work Schedule: 4/10 (Mon-Thurs) with every Friday off.
The selected candidate will utilize their Safety Specialist skills to conduct site-specific safety compliance assessments, risk assessments, and inspections, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations on construction sites. Key duties include evaluating potential hazards, recommending corrective actions, developing safety policies, and maintaining safety records to foster a safe working environment for all personnel
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:- Learns and assists with providing Environmental, Health, and Safety guidance to field managers and staff; communicates Environmental, Health, and Safety roles and responsibilities based on environmental program standards.
- Learns and assists in the development and field implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements; and establishes, documents, and communicates standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Learns and assists with conducting inspections for compliance with environmental, health, and safety program requirements. Participates in program audit and assessment teams. Documents results and participates in corrective action development where deficiencies are found. directed. Provides feedback to program managers to ensure that environmental/occupational programs and supporting systems and tools meet facility and operational needs. Follow-ups, as
- Learns and assists with responding to emergency calls or events, and ensures that proper Environmental, Health, and Safety management procedures are followed. Learns and/or assists in preparing reports, as required.
- Learns and assists with receiving and/or investigating environmental, health, and safety incidents and accidents at the direction of legal and risk management; learns and/or assists in interviewing Metropolitan employees and in addressing specific complaints and concerns related to environmental/occupational health and safety incidents and accidents; learns and/or assists in investigating accident claims and/or incidents; learns and/or assists in preparing confidential reports of investigations.
Follow-up, as directed. - Learns and assists with conducting toolbox sessions and provides training to support the communication of environmental, health, and safety programs.
- Learns and assists with maintaining required field records and administrative paperwork. Prepares reports, as requested or required. May contain confidential information.
- Learns and assists liaisons with regulatory agencies and professional organizations.
- Learns and assists in providing Environmental, Health, and Safety support to shutdown projects.
- Learns and assists with occasional sampling, packaging, chain of custody, and shipping related to lead, asbestos, PCB, and other hazardous substances. Learns and assists with vendor cleanup activities.
- Learns and assists with shipping, receipt, storage, control, and removal of hazardous materials and wastes. Participates in safety committee activities at facilities.

- Computer Knowledge (Intermediate-Expert), SharePoint, PowerPoint (Presentation). Eviance Product or Porta Count machine knowledge Will be A+
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or four years' experience in an applicable MWD classification in a related field (effective through June 2015).
- Valid California Class C Driver's License that allows you to drive in the course of your employment.
- 5+ Years Construction Industry Safety
- 5+ Years Construction Commercial & Residential experience
- 5+ Years Safety Cal Osha Knowledge
- Defensive Driver
- No Cal PERS membership
- Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment: Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards, unsafe practices, defective equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all site activities and operations comply with federal (OSHA), state, and local safety regulations and best practices.
- Safety Program Implementation: Understand and implement the provisions of site-specific safety programs, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain safety-related documentation, records, and detailed written reports of site visits, findings, and incident investigations.
