Position Summary

The Senior Accountant – Manufacturing Operations reports to the Controller, Lindsay Plant and serves as a key finance partner to plant leadership at our Lindsay, Nebraska manufacturing facility. This role will own significant portions of the month-end close, support standard costing and inventory accounting, lead variance analysis, and provide actionable insight that drives cost reduction and margin improvement.

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional who can step in quickly, work independently, strengthen internal controls, and help mentor and develop less experienced team members. As part of the Lindsay Finance team, you will work collaboratively with Operations, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Commercial and Corporate Finance to build relationships and accomplish objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Month‑End Close & Financial Reporting

• • Own significant portions of the monthly, quarterly and year‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare and review recurring allocations and reporting across business units, ensuring accuracy and timely completion against close deadlines
  • Prepare weekly and monthly operations, spend and KPI reporting for plant leadership
  • Support fixed asset and capital project accounting, including monthly communication of capital spend to project owners

Cost Accounting & Inventory

• • Maintain accuracy of product costs, including material, labor and overhead, within a standard cost environment
  • Support and help own the annual standard cost roll, including validation of bills of material, routings, labor rates and overhead rates
  • Monitor inventory transactions and valuation; support cycle counts, physical inventories and reserve analysis
  • Analyze and explain manufacturing variances, including purchase price variance (PPV), labor efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap and shipping
  • Document standard costing, inventory and variance accounting processes
