Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher will lead our Education Services Program, ensuring high-quality educational offerings and personalized support. This role is essential in shaping meaningful educational experiences and promoting student success.

Key Responsibilities

As a Special Education Teacher, you will:

  • Lead, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs within our Education Services Program.
  • Collaborate with the Educational Service Director to assess program needs, goals, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Ensure compliance with County, State, and Federal regulations and standards.
  • Train, guide, and supervise staff to deliver exceptional educational services.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation in their own program planning.
  • Maintain overall program quality, including safety standards, financial oversight, and facility upkeep.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (required).

Certification:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (required). (Grade 6-12)

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in educational or community-based programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Knowledge of behavior management practices, ISPs, and normalization principles.
