About the Role

Streck is looking for a detail-oriented White Blood Cell Technician 1 to join our Operations team. In this role, you'll process human and simulated white and red blood cell components used to build the reagent and control products our customers rely on for accurate diagnostic testing. You'll work hands-on in a climate-controlled clean room laboratory, following precise procedures to wash, treat, and prepare cell material while ensuring every batch meets strict sterility and quality standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a science background (or relevant lab experience) who takes pride in precision, documentation, and following process — and who wants to contribute to products that support healthcare around the world.

What You'll Do
  • Check in and process incoming raw materials, including washing, treating, and fixing white blood cell material according to standard operating procedures.
  • Perform diluent additions, centrifugation, incubation, and aspiration as part of production processing.
  • Prepare sterility samples and other in-process tests using proper aseptic technique.
  • Perform final counts and scans, and interpret technical data for component material.
  • Ensure sterility and quality requirements are met so material is ready for transfer on schedule.
  • Complete accurate, legible, and timely documentation to support full material traceability.
  • Maintain a clean, aseptic lab environment, including proper handwashing and clean room protocol.
  • Collaborate with other departments on scheduling, inventory, and production problem-solving.
  • Contribute ideas for improving processes, saving time, and reducing cost.
What You Bring
  • Associate degree in a science-related field preferred; relevant hands-on lab or production experience may substitute.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following documented procedures precisely.
  • Comfort with mathematical calculations and interpreting technical/numeric data.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills, with clear written and verbal communication.
  • Prior laboratory experience is a plus, but not required — we provide training on our equipment and processes.
  • Willingness to work safely with biological and chemical materials and to follow FDA/ISO regulatory requirements.

You'll work in a climate-controlled biological/chemical laboratory, with occasional short visits to walk-in coolers. The role requires wearing lab clean room attire (lab coat, hair bonnet, and beard cover as applicable) and other protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and face shields for up to two and a half hours at a stretch. This is an in-person, on-site laboratory position with minimal to no travel required.

Physical Requirements

This role involves medium physical activity — occasionally lifting/moving up to 40 lbs and frequently up to 20 lbs — along with standing for extended periods, walking, reaching, and fine motor tasks like pipetting and handling lab instruments. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
