Clean Harbors in Kimball, NE is looking for a Container Mechanic
. The role involves sanding, prep work, inspecting, fabricating, cutting, welding, patching or replacing tarps on containers at Clean Harbors locations and customer sites such as refineries. The position requires logging all time and material entries into an electronic repair order system and maintaining a valid driver’s license. The company supplies welding equipment and a service truck.

- Perform compliance and safety inspections; correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventative maintenance
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, mechanical repair, and all other metal‑working techniques consistent with the container repair trade
- Maintain shop housekeeping, building maintenance, welding systems, general repair equipment, and shop tools
- Perform surface preparation of equipment prior to painting; apply paint or coatings using Hvlp, airless, or manual tooling and processes
- Fabricate, cut, and weld roll‑off containers
- Produce quality product while meeting standards
- Log time and material entries into the electronic repair order system
- Keep the company truck clean, tidy, and free of hazards
- Perform other welding duties and tasks as assigned by management
- Experience welding (MIG & Stick) and mechanical fabrication/repair shop environment
- Experience with flat welding on steel preferred
- Successful completion of a structural welding test
- Welding certification is an asset
- Ability and willingness to wear a respirator and maintain a clean‑shaven appearance
- Valid driver’s license and clean 3‑year driving record
