Position: Driver-Part Time (Part-Time, Mornings)

Van Driver (Part-Time, Mornings)

Join our team and make a difference by providing safe transportation for adults with special needs.

Prime Home DDS is seeking a dependable and compassionate Van Driver to transport adults with varying abilities to and from our day services programs. This part-time position offers paid training and a consistent morning schedule.

Schedule
  • 10-12 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday
  • Morning Route:
    Approximately 6:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Position Overview

The Van Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation for ambulatory and wheelchair-bound adults of all skill and ability levels. Drivers transport individuals to and from day service facilities using company vehicles while ensuring the safety, dignity, and comfort of every passenger.

Prime Home DDS provides paid training, including:

  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • De-escalation techniques
  • Behavioral support training
Responsibilities
  • Safely transport clients to and from day service locations
  • Assist passengers as needed while maintaining their dignity and safety
  • Follow all traffic laws and company transportation policies
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections, safety checks, and basic maintenance procedures
  • Maintain accurate transportation records as required
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
  • Communicate professionally with clients, families, staff, and partner agencies
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to comply with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and smartphone navigation applications
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English
Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Provide emotional support while remaining calm, professional, and respectful
  • Effectively de-escalate challenging situations using strong interpersonal skills
  • Maintain a friendly, positive attitude when interacting with clients and agency partners
  • Work independently and demonstrate reliability and dependability
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and safety checks
  • Lift up to 70 pounds
  • Bend, twist, and perform other physical duties as required
Preferred Experience
  • Experience operating a 10-passenger or larger van
  • Previous individual transportation or passenger transport experience
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
