About the Role
The role focuses on initiating, developing, and expanding business banking relationships with clients generating $1‑million to $15‑million+ in revenue. The position is to build and manage strong relationships with prospects and clients, drive high‑volume opportunities, and lead initiatives within a defined market.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate, develop and expand new and existing business banking clients with revenues between $1M and $15M+.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and clients while driving high‑volume opportunities and engagements.
- Leverage automated systems and processes to enhance customer experience and improve business forecasting.
- Provide work leadership by directing or assigning work and resolving problems.
- Maintain direct contact with external and internal clients, consistently providing proactive solutions and problem resolutions in line with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
- Develop new business through outside business development activities and use targeted lists.
- Ensure ongoing contact with new clients to enhance their initial experience with the bank.
- Achieve individual annual production and growth goals for business banking, deposits, fees, and loans to meet financial targets.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of client needs through review and analysis of personal and business financial data, and provide integrated delivery of financial services.
- Identify prospects, determine appropriate contact methods, needs, and products, including cross‑market solutions such as lending, deposits, treasury management, and wealth management.
- Leverage the bank’s turnkey solutions, including automated scoring.
- Build a client referral pipeline via internal and external centers of influence.
- Maintain in‑depth knowledge of products, services, competitors, and competitive products.
- Study industrial, commercial, economic, and financial situations related to new or existing business.
- Promote and cross‑market bank products and services, keeping clients informed of special promotions.
- Collaborate with internal business partners to deepen client relationships.
- May serve as a team lead, directing the work of others.
- Participate in community organizations to source business development opportunities and maximize networking.
- Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations, keep up‑to‑date on regulation changes, follow bank policies and procedures, and complete required training.
Education and Experience:
More than years of relevant business/commercial banking experience or equivalent. (Required)
- Extremely strong relationship management skills, including new business development, analytical thinking, problem solving, sales skills, and intermediate credit and credit quality skills.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial C & I bank products and services to capitalize on cross‑selling opportunities.
- Proven track record of success in developing new clients and business through prospecting, sourcing, and networking.
- Very strong credit analysis and commercial underwriting skills, including accounting, financial statement, and cash‑flow analysis experience.
- Advanced knowledge of business banking, deposits, cash management policies, procedures, practices, banking regulations, documentation, and operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships.
- Ability to prioritize and direct the work of others.
- Proficiency with personal computers and related software such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to train and present to small and large audiences.
- Strong knowledge of the bank’s credit products and underwriting policies.
- Knowledge of structuring credit products for small businesses in diverse industries.
- Experience with working capital, equipment, and real estate financing.
- Travel Requirements:
Frequent.
Pay range: $81,000.00 to $. Position may be eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation.
