The Admissions Counselor for the Washington Veterans to Technology (WaV2T) Program is responsible for recruiting, qualifying, enrolling, and supporting WaV2T students at the Schofield Barracks, Hawaii extension campus.

In this role, the Admissions Counselor collaborates with WaV2T faculty and staff, as well as departments at Saint Martin's University, to foster a positive admissions environment and deliver exceptional student support.

The Admissions Counselor liaises with external agencies such as the Department of Defense Skill Bridge Program, the Army Career Skills Program (CSP), and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to facilitate student enrollment in the WaV2T program. Additionally, the Admissions Counselor works closely with Career Development Managers to ensure seamless enrollment in Saint Martin's University (SMU) classes via Power Campus and addresses any issues that arise.

The Admissions Counselor also prepares regular data reports for the Director of the WaV2T program, providing insights on historical trends and enrollment statistics.

* Recruit and screen prospects for the WAV2T program, review prerequisite materials, and verify completion of application requirements

* Willingness to travel to recruitment events across Hawaii, at both military and civilian events, along with possible outreach travel to Japan and Korea.

* Conduct applicant interviews and make final admission decisions

* Mentor and coach WAV2T applicants during the application process, serving as the primary point of contact for their concerns

* Review and update application and admissions communications or materials as needed

* Maintain effective and timely communications with prospective WAV2T students through Slate application tracking system

* Implement emerging admissions testing and assessments as new pathways are established

* Use query builder tools in Slate to create cohort-specific data reports and ad hoc reports and as needed
