Middle School Math Teacher - Washington Connections Academy

Position Summary

A remote, full‑time Certified Middle School Mathematics Teacher works with students, families, and instructional staff to deliver high‑quality online instruction. The role includes teaching, student support, communication, community building, and professional collaboration.

• Host a homeroom and conduct weekly Live Lessons.
• Support students and families through key academic cycle tasks such as Welcome Calls, Intent to Return, and monthly progress checks.
• Deliver at least one synchronous Live Lesson per course each week and provide asynchronous support videos.
• Grade assignments within eight days, providing clear, constructive feedback.
• Use data to provide Tier 1 differentiated instruction and support Tier 2/3 interventions.
• Engineer alternate lessons, assessments, and strategies to meet individual goals.
• Communicate regularly with caretakers, students, and instructional staff via computer and telephone.
• Maintain contact logs within 24 hours and meet weekly student contact requirements.
• Coordinate and participate in social activities, virtual field trips, and community events.
• Assist in state testing proctoring and student recruitment/marketing efforts.
• Collaborate on IEP and 504 teams, professional learning communities, and counseling support.
• Attend training, professional development, and team‑building activities.
• Report incidents and stay updated on state regulations.
• Travel for events such as school trainings, state testing, graduation ceremonies, and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Washington teacher certification in K‑8 Elementary Education or Mathematics.
• Residence in Washington preferred.
• Proficiency with technology:
  Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Nearpod, and data tools.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to foster an inclusive, equitable workplace and classroom environment.
• Student‑ and family‑focused approach supporting diverse backgrounds and identities.

Salary commensurate with experience, ranges from $40,000 to $55,000.
