Job Description
OverviewJoin the KPFF Lacey team as a motivated, energetic, and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in managing civil engineering projects ensuring they are delivered to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have at least eight years’ experience in site development, civil engineering, project management, and planning experience.
Responsibilities- Project Managers are a key member of our design teams, and exhibit strong leadership, time management, and communication skills to pursue, develop, and execute projects. In this role, you’ll refine your existing expertise in civil engineering, and mentor other engineers with technical knowledge, research, design, permitting, and construction management.
- Work on a variety of projects for both public agencies and private developers including:
Commercial Site Development, Parks and Recreation Facilities, Multi-family / Residential Development, Water Systems, Sewer Lift Stations, Roadway Infrastructure, Municipal Institutions, Public Works Infrastructure and Redevelopment, Staff Augmentation. - Coordinate projects, ensure quality control, and meet client expectations. Perform general project tasks such as collaborative work, writing or reviewing proposals or statements of qualifications, applying engineering principles to solve problems, and maintaining focus and judgment.
- Foster client relationships through active listening, clear communication, and delivering customized solutions aligned with client objectives.
- Interface with clients on project coordination and design; ensure technical content quality and adherence to project fees and schedules; track budget and timing; provide construction administration support; and communicate with contractors on site visits and inspections as needed.
- B.S. Degree or higher in Civil Engineering
- P.E. License in Washington State
- Knowledge of codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction of major site development projects in Washington
- Permitting experience with various municipalities
- Ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaborative skills
- Competency, accountability, and personal commitment to deliver quality work to our clients, and to mentor younger staff
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or attending meetings.
- Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
- Occasionally visit project locations and perform field inspections which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.
- Base salary range: $120,000 - $155,000, determined by experience, education, and skills.
