Position: Business Operations Lead  (TTE)

Overview

Business Operations Lead (TTE) in Lacey, WA (Olympic Region). Salary: $96,144 – $129,288 annually. Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking a Transportation Technical Engineer (TTE) to join the Tumwater Design Office delivering fish passage and mobility projects. Reporting to the Project Engineer, this role provides management of Agreements with consultant firms and public agencies as well as project budgets for an engineering office responsible for delivery of design projects.

Projects are expected to be completed within budget, on schedule, and with QA/QC to ensure deliverables are constructable and maintainable. This role contributes to the WSDOT mission of providing safe, reliable and cost-effective transportation options to improve communities and economic vitality. This position supports the agency's strategic plan by ensuring work functions are administered to the expected quality, safety, and stewardship standards to support Washington's long-term resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Agreements with consultant firms and public agencies and administer related payments and reporting.
  • Oversee deliverables, review and payment of invoices, and monitor project budgets.
  • Coordinate project schedule updates and reporting to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Ensure QA/QC for design deliverables to be constructable and maintainable.
  • Support adherence to WSDOT policies and the agency's strategic plan, promoting quality, safety, and stewardship standards.
  • Foster a workplace culture of respect, equal opportunity, and belonging.
