Position:
Environmental Engineer 2 for Parks Development – Facilities Programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide professional environmental engineering services to the Agency under the guidance of Registered Professional Engineers.
- Prepare engineering reports, studies, contract drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates for capital development projects.
- Design and develop accessibility improvements in compliance with ADA standards, the ADA Remediation Plan, and settlement agreement requirements.
- Integrate ADA compliance into capital project design (routes, parking, restrooms, campgrounds, public‑use facilities).
- Design bio‑engineered channel stabilization systems, buildings, retaining walls, piling, marine structures, and other park infrastructure.
- Analyze and design stormwater systems in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of watersheds and drainage systems.
- Analyze and design on‑site sewage, sewer conveyance, and pumping systems.
- Analyze and design potable water systems, wells, treatment facilities, and reservoirs.
- Design roadways, parking areas, and trails, including ADA‑compliant access features.
- Act as Field Engineer/Project Manager performing construction site inspections, recommending design revisions, negotiating change orders, preparing contract payments, closeout documentation, and handling first‑level contract disputes and claims.
- Travel to conduct field investigations as required to support engineering design and ADA remediation planning.
Hybrid telework flexibility may be approved by the supervisor, but frequent in‑office and on‑site attendance is required.

Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree with major study in sanitary, civil, geotechnical, water resource, environmental engineering, or a closely related field. Up to 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Two (2) years of civil/environmental engineering experience.
- Valid unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver’s license.
- Engineer‑In‑Training Certificate.
- Technical expertise in environmental and civil engineering principles, practices, and codes.
- Project management and construction oversight.
- Collaboration and team leadership.
- Communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical thinking and problem solving.
- Learning agility and adaptability.
- Customer‑focused action orientation.
Office schedule M–F 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, typically 85% in office and 15% traveling or visiting work sites. Some overnight travel may be required. Field work may involve rough terrain and enclosed spaces.
