In-Training opportunity:
This position may be filled at the Fiscal Analyst 2 level or as a 2 in-training at the Fiscal Analyst 1 level depending on qualifications. Candidates hired at the Fiscal Analyst 1 level will be required to successfully complete an in-training program prior to promoting to the goal class of Fiscal Analyst 2.
The Fiscal Analyst 2 supports the agency's mission through coordinating with park staff, Headquarters staff, and customers to ensure accurate and timely revenue distribution. Under supervision of the Revenue Section Manager in Financial Services, this position is responsible for the accurate distributing of all monies deposited in state park field locations and headquarters. This position reconciles returned checks with the bank and the park, analyzes bank deposit reports (BDRs) to actual bank deposits, and corrects any discrepancies.
The Fiscal Analyst 2 also supports the mission through accurate accounting of dollars received from assigned credit card acceptance points; accurate collection, reporting, and payment of sales; and is the back up to the other Fiscal Analyst 2.
This position is not eligible to telework, as physical on-site presence is required to perform essential functions.

Some of what you'll do:
* Responsible for analyzing, balancing and correcting cash receipt journal summaries to bank statements and BDRs.
* Downloads bank deposit information daily (or as needed) from Office of State Treasurer's (OST) Concentration Bank and from local banks to view park deposits.
* Reviews, analyzes, and corrects individual BDRs sent in from the parks to the OST deposits; prepares journal vouchers for distribution of revenue reported on the BDRs.
* Updates and monitors the CRT database.
* Prepares Headquarters Cash Journal Voucher to distribute the daily cash deposit;
* Manages credit card chargeback process.
* Prepares and processes journal vouchers as needed to correct accounting records per reconciliation results.
* Researches and resolves all discrepancies related to credit card receipts for assigned acceptance points.
* Updates and maintains restricted donation ledgers.
* Responsible for accounting restitution monies collected; maintains financial spreadsheets and reconciles monthly to financial system.
* Batches journal voucher documents, enters the financial data into the state accounting system (AFRS) using Financial Toolbox.
* Reviews, analyzes, and adjusts BDRs received from Parks.
* Verifies that all required documentation received; follows-up with parks for any missing documentation.
* Responsible for accounting and credit card receipts for the Central Reservation System (CRS) vendor; coordinates and works with CRS accounting staff to resolve discrepances.
* Reconciles deposits to the State Concentration Account to financial reports from multiple credit card systems daily.
* Compiles, analyzes, reviews, monitors, and maintains credit card data into spreadsheet for distribution to appropriate revenue sources daily.
* Monthly reconciliation of automated pay station revenue to AFRS.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Fiscal Analyst 1: $4,027 - $5,398 a month
* One (1) year of experience of fiscal experience in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and
* High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Fiscal Analyst 2: $4,428 - $5,956 a month
* One (1) year of fiscal experience in accounting, auditing or budgeting and
* 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and
* High school diploma or GED equivalent.

* Reconciling cash journals, automated pay station revenues, credit card receipts, and restricted donation ledgers against bank statements and AFRS.

* Ensuring precision when reviewing high-volume reports, assigning financial account codes, cross-checking backup documentation, and processing physical deposits.

* Investigating financial variances, resolving credit card chargebacks, diagnosing data entry errors, and processing corrective journal vouchers.
