Overview
Fiscal Analyst 2 supports Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission by coordinating with park staff, Headquarters staff, and customers to ensure accurate and timely revenue distribution. Under the supervision of the Revenue Section Manager in Financial Services, the analyst is responsible for accurate distribution of all monies deposited in state park field locations and headquarters, reconciliation of returned checks, analysis of bank deposit reports, and correction of discrepancies.
Responsibilities- Analyze, balance, and correct cash receipt journal summaries to bank statements and BDRs.
- Download bank deposit information daily from OST Concentration Bank and local banks.
- Review, analyze, and correct individual BDRs sent in from parks to OST deposits; prepare journal vouchers for distribution.
- Update and monitor the CRT database.
- Prepare Headquarters Cash Journal Voucher to distribute daily cash deposit.
- Manage credit card chargeback process.
- Process journal vouchers to correct accounting records per reconciliation results.
- Research and resolve all discrepancies related to credit card receipts for assigned acceptance points.
- Maintain restricted donation ledgers.
- Account for restitution monies collected; maintain financial spreadsheets and reconcile monthly to financial system.
- Batches journal voucher documents; enter data into state accounting system (AFRS) using Financial Toolbox.
- Review, analyze, and adjust BDRs received from Parks.
- Verify required documentation; follow-up with parks for missing items.
- Account for credit card receipts for the Central Reservation System (CRS) vendor; coordinate with CRS accounting staff to resolve discrepancies.
- Reconcile deposits to the State Concentration Account and financial reports from multiple credit card systems daily.
- Compile, analyze, review, monitor, and maintain credit card data into spreadsheet for distribution to appropriate revenue sources daily.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of automated pay station revenue to AFRS.
- Fiscal Analyst 1: $4,027–$5,398 a month.
- One year of fiscal experience in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Fiscal Analyst 2: $4,428–$5,956 a month.
- One year of fiscal experience in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
- 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Financial Reconciliation
- Reconciling cash journals, automated pay station revenues, credit card receipts, and restricted donation ledgers against bank statements and AFRS.
- Ensuring precision when reviewing high-volume reports, assigning financial account codes, cross-checking backup documentation, and processing physical deposits.
- Investigating financial variances, resolving credit card chargebacks, diagnosing data entry errors, and processing corrective journal vouchers.
- Cross‑training across diverse revenue desks and serving as the primary operational backup for other Fiscal Analyst peers.

Schedule is 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
